Salon mirror

This mirror proves the old adage "keep a thing long enough and you'll find a use for it". It's been in my stash for 30+ years and cost 29c - I know that because the price sticker was still on the back. It was made as a handbag mirror but I bought it because I thought it might come in useful as a dollhouse dressing table mirror but it has lain unused for all these years - until now!

It was an exciting moment when I realised that the mirror and the angels embellishment would fit above the fireplace - it wasn't planned, it's just 'dumb luck', or maybe serendipity.

  1. How wonderful that you kept it all these years. It is perfect over your fireplace. Isn't it great when you find something in your stash that you have had that long and you finally find a use for it. :-)

  2. It's really perfect! I'm a firm believer in picking up an object that speaks to you. I think we inherently know that it will come in handy, if not now then at some point down the road.

  9. It is very beautiful, it's good you've got it out of the hiding. It is super nice and fit so well just above the fine fireplace, almost like it's made for just that place.

It is always worth it to keep things for 'sometimes' with our hobby. These kind of things make themselves usefull in the future.
