What do you think - 1:12 or 1:1?

How often have you looked at the work of a talented miniaturist and said to yourself "there's no way that's mini" - well here's one to contemplate...

Very clever photographing it in the woods, don't you think?

Look at this pretty interior, wouldn't you just love to shrink yourself and curl up in there with a good book? And how lovely in the 'evening light'...

In fact no shrinking would be required to enjoy this amazing creation - it's the 1:1 studio cottage of Sandy Foster whose fabulous blog is at http://myshabbystreamsidestudio.blogspot.com

Just for once instead of wanting to exclaim "It's so gorgeous I can't believe it's not real!" I think I'm not the only one saying "It's so gorgeous I can't believe it's not mini!"

I wonder who will be the first to miniaturise it??? Now there's a challenge...

Jona, I can't undersstand why I can't add a link in the post, it's driving me crazy. Maybe try googling the blog, the name is My Shabby Streamside Studio.

Hi Norma,

Oh I just love this little house. I would so love to have a little place of my own like this. It is just too cute. I am so glad you posted it. You put a smile on my face.

Oooooohhhhhhh! Not sure I'd get any work done in that studio, I'd just sit there dreaming (and maybe shivering!)all day! But it's GORGEOUS!!!

I would love to have that studio :D
Norma, in fact your miniatures do look very real. The neatness and detailing make them so real. If you just show the photographs without any mention of dollhouse .. I think a lot of people will actually believe that its somebody's home.

What a beautiful little studio!

Norma, there's a little bit of sunshine for you over on my blog. :0)

Norma, I put a comment for you on my blog about the shutters..

I still can't take my eyes off this place, and yes Susanne I think using it as inspiration for a little project is inevitable... I'd also love to build one for real (1:1), I suggested to my daughter-in-law that we think about extending the chicken house at the bottom of the yard in New Zealand, she thought it was a great idea so long as there would not be any resident chickens in the studio LOL (BTW Susanne thanks for letting me know about the paint advice being on your blog.)

Thanks for the award De, I'd better do something about that, and the one from Michelle.

Amina, you are too kind!

Ah Linda, you've been bitten by the studio bug too!! It is one of the most adorable things I've ever seen. I have no problem with you taking a copy from here but of course copyright is held by Sandy. I'm sure she'd be very happy that you are interested, her email address (which is on her blog) is zuzu.foster@gmail.com - why not email her and ask her yourself.

I'd love to do a mini of this little place too, but uni starts again on Monday so my time is going to be very limited. Of course there is no reason not to run 'twin' projects anyway, it would be interesting to see how/if from the same inspiration two different results emerge.

Happily I have now got the link problem sorted out :)
