Marit's tiny turnings & link to bird and cage making

Marit's little bird didn't arrive empty handed - he brought these lovely tiny tiny turned candlesticks, etc with him, part of a swap arrangement between Marit and I. The smallest piece is about 5mm long - it's so light and delicate that I'm afraid that if I should sneeze it would fly off never to be seen again! The package also included these pretty things...

Thanks again Marit!

My contribution to the swap will be some things for Marit's beach house.

Here is the link to Marit's post about how she made the bird and his little cage

Post amendment: if you look closely at the above pic, and those in Marit's post about making the bird and the cage you will see why I'm in the running for the award of IDIOT OF THE YEAR (if not the century)! If you can spot my idiotic bungle let me know in a comment! First to spot it (I hope there's only the one I'm aware of!!) will get an extra couple of entries in the giveaway that I promise is coming this side of Christmas!! ;) ["Quick as a flash" Ira's got it!]

OMG, those turnings are fablous! I especially love the lidded one. And the other stuff is fab also, I'm crazy about the jewellery filigree stuff :D

I don't think that you should have the idiot award as I think that the picture is too beautiful to be covered with bird poop :D But you better put it back in the cage ;)

Well spotted Ira!

I think I should ask for a refund on my new glasses too, I didn't even see the little white dots on the picture until I looked back at Marit's post - BUT I did see two little bits of feather that were stuck on the picture. I gently pulled them off before taking the photo because I just thought that they'd got there by accident somehow when Marit packed up the things because she did include some other bits of the feathers so that I could use them elsewhere. When I looked properly at Marit's post again after publishing my pics I saw the white spots and the exact bits of feathers I'd just removed and realised that I am indeed an idiot. You are kind to suggest otherwise Ira but I put my hands up and cry 'mea culpa' :)

Oh and forgot to add that I can imagine their expressions when you go to the store and complain that you couldn't even see the tiny miniature bird poop :D

Hi Norma - you get the Award for Making your Followers giggle!

Lovely items and the birdcage is so cute.

And - completely off topic but I have only just read your comment (March 1st) about the difficulties of getting supplies outside the US. I have my stool ready - so just point me to my spot in the 'naughty corner'. I am constantly amazed at what is available elsewhere. Recently the green eyed monster in me has been awakened by not being able to go to Paris and buy some Pascale Garnier flower kits.

In Ireland we have a pitiful selection of craft suppliers and the miniature world is almost non-existant. Yesterday I was trying to buy something from the States that cost $4.95 and the shipping was going to be $35!! It is freely available to Michaels.

Grrrrr........

Have a great weekend and thank you for making me smile!! Hugs, Carol xoxox

Ah ah ah :-)
I agree with Ira as: too beautiful, the bottom of the cage, to be covered in poo! If you can console, I probably would have used "knowingly" the background as picture, because it's really nice :-)
Mini idiot kisses, Flora

It just shows you the fine, fine line between miniatures and reality. xo CM
